This site is about wargaming, and in particular is to distribute (as free downloads) and support my own rules. My interests include the ancient and early medieval periods, the English Civil War and some aspects of fantasy. Sometimes I use commercially available rules, mainly DBA and it's offshoots. Sometimes I write my own. Lately I have begun experimenting with early eighteenth century and Pacific Theatre Second World War wargaming.

I like quick games. I usually aim for my games to last no more than 2½ hours. If I have more wargaming time I usually prefer multiple short games to games that take longer.

Concerning figure scales, I use individually based 25 mm figures for one to one skirmish rules. (I use the word "skirmish" loosely - one set of rules uses 60+ figures for a unit.) For larger battles I prefer smaller figures. I started wargaming with 6 mm figures from the excellent Baccus ranges. I have tried 10 mm. At the moment I find that I am starting many new projects in 15 mm.

These are just my personal preferences. I do not criticise anyone for preferring different periods, scales or rules. Wargaming is a hobby. The main thing is for people to enjoy it and do what they want to do in it.
